HTC loyalists can now add one more mobile phone to their pocket. HTC and Telefonica are declaring an exclusive collaboration to sell the HTC Smart. This is claimed to be a reasonably-priced and user-friendly smartphone on 02 in Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

The device is alleged to be a different kind of smartphone that can provide effortless use of widgets, surfing and superior connectivity. The HTC Smart exemplifies HTC Sense. The device’s compact touch design incorporates the columns of HTC Sense to offer an easy-to-use experience. Users can personalize their own, personal HTC Smart experience via a diversity of widgets for rapid access to contacts, images, music, weather and more. People can view their friends’ status updates by means of HTC Friend Stream, an application that can impeccably collect all of the users’ social communication counting Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr into one structured flow of updates.

Peter Chou, chief executive officer, HTC Corporation, commented, “More and more people are craving advanced mobile phone experiences with email, web browsing and social networking but the cost and complexity often represent a significant obstacle for many. The HTC Smart introduces this functionality in an intuitive phone that is affordable. With the HTC Smart, HTC and Telefónica share a similar vision for bringing easy-to-use, affordable smartphone experience to the masses.”

Matthew Key, chief executive officer of Telefonica Europe, stated, “We believe this is a key move in our ability to bring smartphones to a far wider cross section of the population. The benefits of web browsing on the move and ability to experience applications like mobile social networking will now be brought to the mass market and reinforces O2’s position as the home of the smartphone.”

The phone applies Qualcomm’s Brew Mobile Platform (Brew MP), a potent and popular mobile operating system that facilitates HTC to provide the HTC Sense experience on more reasonably priced smartphones. Brew MP also delivers the HTC Smart with a mass-market prospect for new applications and services from software developers all over the world.

Apart from bringing HTC Smart though O2 in Germany, Ireland and the UK in April 2010, the smartphone would also hit the markets in Italy with Telecom Italia, Norway with Netcom and across Europe via the direct channel. The price of HTC Smart is unavailable currently.
