Keyboard and mouse. These two are among the most important accessories that you use with your personal computer. Can you imagine yourself working or gaming on your computer without these two? Of course not. So, you really have to take good care of your keyboard and mouse and if they’re beyond repair, you must get replacement at once. Now, if you are thinking about replacing them, why not choose something which is not the ordinary? Something like the Cideko Air Keyboard.

Yes, the Cideko Air Keyboard is not your ordinary keyboard because it’s more than a multitouch trackpad – it’s actually a wireless, motion-sensing keyboard that features a built-in 3D mouse for more convenience. So who said that your keyboard should always go with a separate mouse for your personal computer to be functional? With the Cideko Air Keyboard, you actually get to enjoy the two accessories in one. Not only that, this gadget also packs a pair of gamepad-style shoulder buttons in place of more standard mouse buttons, includes dedicated media control buttons, and promises a range of 50 meters plus a purported battery life of 50 hours.

In addition, the Cideko Air Keyboard features a compact and lightweight design, so it’s also a lot easier to carry wherever you go. It is also created with universal compatibility so whether you use Windows 7, Vista, XP, Linux, or Mac OS, you can always expect this to work. It runs on two AA batteries and has a power saving mode after being idle for 10 seconds.

Intel has unboxed its Itanium processor 9300 series which was earlier codenamed Tukwila. Delivering more than twice the performance compared to its predecessor, the series enhances scalability and reliability. The Itanium platform currently runs mission-critical applications for about 80 percent of the Global 100 corporations.

As the Gartner Group predicts about 650 percent growth in IT data in the next five years, businesses would require powerful and scalable enterprise servers. The two-billion transistor Itanium processor 9300 series claims to meet this need with two times the cores as its predecessor, eight threads per processor, more cache, up to 800 percent interconnect bandwidth, up to 500 percent memory bandwidth, and up to 700 percent memory capacity with industry standard DDR3 components.

“Intel is committed to delivering a new era of mission-critical computing, and we are delighted 80 percent of Global 100 companies have chosen Itanium-based servers for their most demanding workloads,” said Kirk Skaugen, vice president Intel Architecture Group and general manager Data Center Group. “Intel is continuing to drive the economics of Moore’s Law into mission-critical computing with today’s Itanium 9300 processor announcement, more than doubling performance for our customers once again.”

The processor shows off advanced machine-check architecture that offers error handling across the hardware, firmware and operating system, ensuring recovery from fatal errors. The Itanium 9300 also employs second generation of Intel Virtualization Technology for improved performance and ruggedness.

“Customers need a flexible technology infrastructure that can efficiently and quickly meet changing mission-critical demands,” said Martin Fink, senior vice president and general manager, Business Critical Systems, HP. “Intel’s Itanium processor 9300 series, combined with HP Integrity servers, helps customers achieve new levels of scalability and resiliency with advanced virtualization capabilities to meet those needs.”

Intel Itanium processor 9300 series enabled OEM systems are said to be binary-compatible with existing software and can also offer several performance improvements, negating the requirement for additional software optimization. The next Itanium processor codenamed Poulson adds to the advanced multi-core architecture, instruction-level, improved reliability features and more.

The future Intel Itanium processors in development have been designed to scale in performance and capacity. The Itanium 9300 processor series as well as the future Intel Xeon processor (codenamed Nehalem EX) have several features in common such as Intel QuickPath Interconnect, the Intel Scalable Memory Interconnect, the Intel 7500 Scalable Memory Buffer (to take advantage of industry standard DDR3 memory), etc.

The enhanced Demand-Based Switching (DBS) minimizes power consumption during low utilization while the Intel Turbo Boost Technology automatically adapts to offer the right performance boost and also conserves power when not required. The Intel Itanium processor 9300 series are available at a price ranging from $946 to $3,838 (approx Rs. 44,135 to Rs. 1,79,061) in quantities of 1,000. OEM systems are said to ship within 90 days.

Do you want a computer mouse with a design like you’ve never seen before? Good news, the OreObject has just launched a revolutionary handmade mouse that boasts innovative, touch-sensitive buttons that are less stressful on the user’s fingers compared to the traditional mouse we are using today. Called the SPHEREtouch, this mouse is OreObject’s flagship product in its premier line of personal computing peripherals.

The SPHEREtouch comes with modern touch-sensitive buttons and a vertical button placement to let your finger hang down freely when you don’t need button actuation. While the usual mouse that we are using these days needs force from the finger every time you need to click a button, the SPHEREtouch mouse just requires a little tapping motion to do the same task.

Designed creatively and innovatively, this mouse offers a very luxurious design. The materials used in it are carefully selected to make sure that the SPHEREtouch will deliver both outstanding functionality and remarkable durability. This is made from medical-grade stainless steel enclosure that provides it with a solid feel combined with quality ceramic feet. Despite its construction and the materials making it up, this mouse will give you a feeling of weightlessness when used on smooth surfaces.

This special spherical mouse is available in three different metal choices – platinum, steel, and titanium. It is compatible with both MAC and Windows operating systems. With its features, you are allowed to scroll through big documents and web pages without exerting too much effort. It also lets you zoom in and out of applications like Google Earth.
